A record 477 ballots were cast by residents, joining 406 cast by the developer. That’s a resident turnout of 43.4%, an increase of 8% over the election last year.
Four trusteeships were up for election to three-year terms. Of the eight candidates, the four elected were:
Ed Wormald (non-Conservancy member) – 535 votes
Tom Kozeny (non-Conservancy member) – 439 votes
Bob Bennett of Mill Station (Conservancy member) – 330 votes
Anthony Castellano of Wellington (Conservancy member) – 329 votes
Palatine, a cluster of Mill Island with 82 single family homes, topped the list of 11 clusters and condominiums for voter turnout with 70.6%.
A resolution concerning empowering the Conservancy Board of Trustees to act on behalf of homeowners should there be an operating surplus for fiscal 2012—an annual action—was passed by a vote of 381 in favor to 35 not in favor.
The results were officially accepted by the Board of Trustees at its April 25 regular meeting where Conservancy President Nick Falcone thanked and congratulated all the volunteers who had a hand in encouraging residents to vote. Cited were: Election Panel chair Ron Heater, of Village Green, and the Panel; cluster and condominiums volunteers; Election Judge Ron Luerson, of Village Green, and the team of ballot tabulators.
